Olde Town East Project

A Total Home Renovation

Project Details

This project is what I consider a restoration/update. The project was pretty much gutted from top to bottom. However, we saved and refinished the original wood trim and flooring, oak on the 1st and 2nd floors and hard pine on the 3rd floor. It was given a new dimensional shingle roof and gutters. We built a gable on the roof to allow a comfortable height for the walk-up attic which we finished as additional living space. The garage and exterior trim were repainted. We converted a dingy closed in back porch into a bright screened in porch. The home was given a new high efficiency HVAC system, new upgraded electrical panel and hot water tank. The house was completely rewired and can lighting was added throughout.

We widened 3 doorways, from the foyer to the living room, living room to the dining room and from the dining room to the kitchen. We removed a wall from the original kitchen and made it into a larger open space with all new shaker white cabinets and granite counter tops and new appliances. We also exposed a brick wall. Upstairs we added a full bathroom off the master bedroom which includes a double sink vanity and a walk-in shower with custom tile work. The original upstairs bathroom was redone, but we saved and refinished the original clawfoot tub which was converted to also double as a 2nd shower and we added a new vanity and custom tile work on the walls. We also reworked all the original windows and made them completely functional. And new paint, new lighting and plumbing fixtures throughout.
